A fantastic concert to introduce children to the theater.
In the enchanting world of fairytales, where melodies tug at your heartstrings, join us for a magical afternoon where princesses and villains set aside their differences to sing together for a noble cause. Dive deep into the musical realm with iconic songs sung by talented professional singers, dressed as your favorite characters like Elsa, Ariel, Ursula, and Snow White.
Why We Sing:
All proceeds from this concert will benefit Up Street Music Patrons, a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives of Sonoma County residents. We provide funding for music and theater arts, including lessons, camps, and programs. With your generous support, we can strike the right chord in the hearts of many.

- Snack Bar: Delicious snacks will be available for purchase to munch on as you enjoy the musical tales unfolding on stage.
Midnight Masquerade
Are you ready to get spooky? Our second year doing our ever popular Midnight Masquerade! Your favorite musical theatre numbers that are Halloween themed or that give you a fright with a live orchestra featuring some of the most talented singers in the bay area!
Hosted at Music To My Ears Sebastopol at 104 N Main Street, this revue is sure to give you a fright, a good time, or both! Just off our hit show, the Role Reversal Revue, NBP is excited to be partnering with MTME again at this beautiful venue. Tickets are bought through a suggested donation of $30 - We provide the option to order your ticket ahead of time online for the suggested $30, or you can chose your own ticket price at the door. Owner of Music to My Ears in Cotati and Sebastopol, Christa is a revered arts educator, vocal technician, breathing coach, and seasoned musician. With each performance, she emphasizes the power of authenticity, using music as a bridge to share our tales and foster mutual compassion. She believes deeply in helping people discover their genuine vocal identity to make a significant impact in the world.
Larissa Lorenz, Soprano
An emerging gem from the Bay Area, Ms. Lorenz is deeply committed to the world of opera. Beyond the stage, she dedicates her time to teaching, outreach programs, and facilitating vocal masterclasses. Ms. Lorenz is affiliated with several opera companies and institutions, always aiming to bring classical music closer to the hearts of the community.
John Pavik, Pianist
Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, and holding a bachelor's degree in Organ Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, John Pavik brings with him an extensive background in music. Serving both as an organist and choir director for several churches and institutions, he’s played an instrumental role in fostering music appreciation across communities.

IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING!

We will match the fruitfulness of the season with an outpouring of beautiful music and song on the Saturday, September 2nd IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING concert. Music director and host, Frank Johnson, will present five engaging singers in a program of delightful variety, with entertaining and informative commentary which has become an audience-pleasing hallmark of this series. Many of the evening's performers will come from the Petaluma/Cotati/Santa Rosa area. Soprano Larissa Lorenz returns to the series performing the heart-wrenching "Morrò, ma prima in grazia" from Verdi's Un ballo in maschera, and the salon-party duet "I bevitori" ("The Drinkers"), by Donizetti, with
Christa Durand. Ms. Durand will also sing the demanding coloratura aria, "Com'e bello" from Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia. Mia Dalton will perform a centerpiece work in the American art song repertory, Samuel Barber's setting of James Agee's lyric poem, "Sure on this Shining Night." She will also sing the exquisite "Where'er you walk" from Handel's Semele. Songstress Aimee Ouellette will be certain to please with two numbers from the Great American Songbook, "Dream a Little Dream of Me" (made famous by Doris Day, and The Mamas and The Papas), and "I'll be Seeing You" (a hit for Bing Crosby, Billie Holiday and many more).
A special treat will be the appearance of Curtis Resnick, a young tenor from Lafayette, who will sing the aria "Ombra mai fu" (the famous "Largo") from Handel's Serse, the English late-Romantic ballad "Sea Fever" by John Ireland, and the moving "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" from Les Misérables.
IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING would not be complete without the accordion stylings of Sheri Mignano Crawford. Complimentary refreshing beverage and snack will be served at intermission. Bring friends with you and enjoy a wonderful late-summer evening concert in the jewel-box theater of the Jarvis Conservatory.
IT'S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING continues the first Saturday of every month at 7pm at the Jarvis Conservatory located at 1711 Main Street in historic downtown Napa. Tickets are $20 and available at the box office beginning at 6pm, with doors opening for General Seating at 6:30pm. As we were choosing a unifying theme for this program, a feeling that came up for us was the gratitude that we all had for this space and the ability to practice and perform music with wonderful colleagues. It is a joy to sing for an audience, and a joy to be together. This concert represents a collection of some of our favorite classical and operatic composers and pieces to perform. Selections include works by Vivaldi, Mendelssohn, Price, Faure, Puccini, Meyerbeer, Massenet, and more. We hope that you can join us on February 23rd, 2023 for a joyful celebration of art song and aria.

This annual event will be raising funds to create a named endowment in the memory of Joshua BlueGreen Cripps & will go towards scholarships for music & visual arts students in Sonoma County, & towards college scholarships for Sonoma County high school seniors pursuing a degree in music.
Come celebrate the memory of our dear friend and colleague and help his name live on through supporting young musicians and performing artists. Joshua was instrumental in promoting up and coming performers and encouraging them to be out in the community to share their talents.
This semi-formal event includes live performances by local musicians, catering, games, and a silent auction!

Jewish Music Series:
Hours of Freedom: The Story of the Terezin Composers |
A concert-drama created by conductor Murry Sidlin showcasing music by 15 composers imprisoned in Terezín during WWII, combines video, performance and narrative. Aware that their lives were fragile, Hours of Freedom explores those composers’ need to create new music as affirmation of a future. Christa Durand will be one of the featured vocalists in this concert.

Featuring soloists Christa Durand, Larissa Lorenz, and Andrew Cedeno, this classical autumn themed concert is a fundraiser for the non-profit organization Up Street Music Patrons. Your donations form this concert will go towards funding music and performing arts scholarships for students. This is a free concert for the community with a suggested donation of $10-$20.
